About Samara
Samara Kothari is a senior at The Spence School whose work explores the intersection of art, history, and identity. A sculptor and wearable artist, she creates pieces that merge craftsmanship and concept — combining sculptural form with symbolic meaning.
Samara has spent four years training under a mentor from the New York Academy of Art, developing mixed-media pieces that combine casting, mold-making, and unconventional materials into sculptural forms of adornment.
Her process is rooted in curiosity and research. Through advanced courses in art history and fashion, she has explored how symbolism, craftsmanship, and cultural exchange shape design across time.
Samara Kothari is an artist whose work connects creativity with community and the environment. A certified scuba diver, she draws inspiration from the ocean’s beauty and resilience, shaping her art around themes of sustainability and awareness.
Her debut exhibition, An Ode to the Ocean’s Resilience, featured sculptural wearable art inspired by marine life and raised funds for the Ocean Conservancy to help protect ocean health.
